Surface water sources are affected by bacterial pollution
Among other things, bacteria and other microorganisms are a common part of surface and groundwater. In addition to natural bacteria, unwanted microorganisms can also enter the aquatic environment. In order for a person to consume water without problems, it must go through a treatment process that removes all harmful substances from raw water. Unwanted bacteria are most common in surface water sources in the Czech Republic, especially in the summer months. Groundwater is then often contaminated by any polluted sewage or cattle grazing.
