We participated in the modernization of the biogas plant in Rapotín
The Rapotín biogas plant, which specializes exclusively in processing waste into biomethane, celebrated its fourth anniversary in 2024. On this occasion, the plant underwent a significant modernization of technology and an increase in production capacity, in which we participated by supplying and installing a HUTIRA injection unit.
As part of the modernization, we delivered and installed the HUTIRA injection unit, which ensures safe and efficient injection of biomethane in the required quality into the GasNet high-pressure gas network. This technology is key to verify the quality and parameters of the biomethane produced in accordance with legislation and distribution company requirements. It also ensures the required pressure and accurate measurement of the biomethane delivered to the gas network.
The order was specific in that it was not a standard container solution that we normally supply, but was the installation of a unit into an existing building. In addition, the investor’s requirement was to integrate selected components from the original technology into our solution.
The HP injection unit was designed for the following technical parameters:
- Inlet pressure: 7-14 bar(g)
- Outlet pressure: 17-25 bar(g) (depending on the pressure in the distribution network)
- Flow rate: up to 500 Nm3/h
The biomethane compressor station is located in the hall and consists of a technological part and a control room. The injection unit is connected to the membrane separation and is connected to the GasNet distribution network. Despite the specific requirements, the implementation was successful and to the customer’s satisfaction. Thus, we implemented two projects for the EFG Group in one year, one in Vyškov and the other in Rapotín.
During the preparation and installation, we faced the challenge of unpredictable weather, which brought intense rainfall to the Jeseník and Šumperk region. As a result of this precipitation, the level of the Desná River rose, which raised concerns about the possible flooding of the entire site. Fortunately, the biogas plant and the site avoided the negative effects of this emergency, flooding was avoided and the modernisation project was successfully completed.
