The REPAMAX coupling is designed to efficiently solve challenging pipe repairs and provide reliable, easy and quick installation without unnecessary delays. It allows angular deflection of up to 6 degrees and adapts to non-round pipes (up to 8 mm). Thanks to its multi-tolerance design, it has a high range of applications, with a working range possible in the range 12, 22, 32 mm / DN40-650. This allows a wide range of pipe types to be repaired with one type of coupling, saving on inventory costs.
We tested the coupling during a failure of the main supply line from the Želivka water treatment plant, where a quick and efficient repair was needed. Thanks to its design, the REPAMAX coupling proved its worth even in unusual and demanding conditions, namely at -10 °C.
In difficult conditions, in February, the main supply line from the Želivka water treatment plant, owned by the PEVAK cooperative and operated by VODAK Humpolec, was repaired. This is a key supply line for the towns of Humpolec, Pelhřimov and Pacov.
The accident involved leaking water from a DN500 steel pipe and was complicated by the leak location, which was directly in the weld at the point of angular deflection of the pipe. Attempts to repair it using a conventional repair coupling failed, so the operator turned to us. Due to the winter conditions and the current temperature of -10 °C, the conditions for repairing the pressurised pipe were not easy.
The repair itself with the REPAMAX coupling took approximately 10 minutes, which exceeded all expectations and the customer was very satisfied. This short repair time is made possible, among other things, by the rubber seals on the edges of the calipers, which greatly simplifies the process.
To clean the pipe, we used our other product, the pipe scraper, which proved to be a significant help throughout the repair and is available in 1, 3 and 2 metre lengths. The operator was very satisfied with the speed and quality of the repair.
