The reconstruction or construction of new water tanks and water treatment plants is dealt with by our specialists from the Water Division every day. One of the many examples of our practice is the project of reconstruction of the water system in the village of Cep, where our company HUTIRA s.r.o. became the general contractor. This project was implemented in the period from June 2023 to June 2024 with the support of subsidies from the State Environmental Fund.

The village of Cep had two boreholes, one of which was shut down for a long time due to poor water quality. The reconstruction included the installation of a modern water treatment plant with a maximum capacity of 4 m³/h, which ensures the production of high-quality drinking water with adequate hardness from both boreholes, and the supply of a new water tank with a capacity of 2 x 25 m³, which now provides sufficient water supplies for all customers.

A new automatic pressure station with frequency converters has also been installed in the valve chamber of the new water tank, which guarantees stable pressure in the water supply network even if the consumption varies during the day. The entire water system is controlled by an advanced control system that allows remote monitoring and control.

The implementation of the project was challenging, especially due to the need to continuously supply the village with water from one borehole in a temporary mode. We undertook the relocation of the original pressure vessels to the new water treatment plant building, the subsequent dismantling of the old technology and the demolition of the water plant building. In its place, we built a new earthen two-chamber water tank with an inlet building and a valve shaft, constructed from precast concrete parts settled by a heavy crawler crane.

After the project was approved, an open day was also held where residents of Cep had the opportunity to see the water treatment plant and the water tank and learn more about how the technology works. There was a lot of interest, and the residents appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the technologies that contribute to improving the water quality in their village.
