The billions we send to Putin for Russian gas can be reduced by domestic production of green gas. In connection with the current discussion regarding the possible restriction of Russian gas supplies, possible alternatives in the Czech energy mix are beginning to be discussed. One option that is often mentioned is biomethane, which can be produced in sewage treatment plants using sludge gas or in biogas stations, where it replaces cogeneration production of electricity and heat.
